Men Do Not Wear Pink

Dulu seorang rakan pernah memberitahu aku, real men do not wear pink outfit ever. Regardless what ever condition, occasion or which era we live, pink just not suit man-hood.

For sure I will never wear pink, not because of my friend’s word, but for me pink just too soft. Aku sememangnya suka pakai baju colour hitam, coklat, biru tua… yang gelap-gelap. (nak nampak kurus).

So, for the record aku memang tidak ada niat nak pakai pink colour shirt. But last weekend aku tengok Spainish Primera Liga highlight, and I saw this:

Damn… pink football jersey. Then one friend told me, not just Sevilla wears pink, Benfica (Portugal’s club) also use pink jersey for their away match.

Then, few days later during the documentary pasal sukan lumba basikal, I found out Giro de Italia (macam Tour De France and Tour de Langkawi) sediakan pink jersey for leader during the tour. You know right, they have each jersey for sprinter la, for climber la, and for overall leader pelumba tu kena pakai pink jersey.

Aku dah confuse, aku seorang je ke yang rasa pelik bila lelaki yang gagah perkasa pakai jersey warna pink? Ok… Spain, Portugal, Italy… aku dengar sana memang ramai gay. So, most probably lelaki-lelaki lembut dah menular dalam dunia sukan disana.

Then aku search internet untuk dapatkan kepastian.

Aku dapat tahu jenama baju lelaki terkenal, Polo produced pink coloured shirt. Tak convincing, maybe they target to sell to gay guys. Since gays market tak kurang besarnya.

Then I found this picture:

Ada sekumpulan pendayung lelaki pakai baju color pink.

Maybe they are bunch of losers yang try too hard to be notice and hopefully boleh menambat hati perempuan.

Then I found this news. Hockey ice team in Europe also wear pink jersey.

I desperately need to find tougher guys photos. american football maybe…

Shit… pasukan american football, Arkansas' Spring gunakan jersey pink. Walaupun sekadar jersey latihan, but pink jersey for bull-like american football player, just too much.

Aku belum mengalah, aku rasa lelaki sememangnya tidak boleh pakai pink shirt or jersey. Those sport team just try to be different and make headlines.

But, after saw this picture I believe I need to reconsider my thought.

Apa gila…. Not just that cowboy wear pink shirt but he rides on pink painted horse.

Ok… aku mengaku kalah. Hopefully there is pink songket, since aku baru je dapat colour tema untuk wedding aku nanti. Everything pink. Kereta Kembara kaler hitam aku pun akan aku tukar jadi pink.

As some fashion designer said; Pink is the new Red. Imagine calling football team as; The Pink…or The Pink Giants.
