After 3 sleepless night, preparekan presentation dengan rakan-rakan. Kami pun masuk membuatkan pembentangan. It is no doubt the biggest presentation I ever get involve with. Dewannya besar, panel yang dengar pun orang-orang ‘besar’ and of cause the proposal pun ‘besar’.
Suddenly, the projector failed to detect my laptop. The whole dewan have to wait for the technician. Luckily he managed to do his magic and after 10 minutes or so, our presentation berjaya dipaparkan onto the huge screen yang sama size dengan screen panggung wayang, seriously memang sama dengan panggung wayang.
Perkara buruk tidak berakhir disitu. Sememangnya presentation semalam adalah paling hampeh yang kami pernah buat dan saksikan. Presentation tak smooth, lebih banyak membaca dari menerangkan. Then masa sessi soal jawap we all choke, fumble, bertukar jadi tikus mondok and failed to answer not even once. Not that we do not know what to answer, but we stupidly tak tahu when to interrupt. We wait, wait…wait… wait for the right moment, suddenly the chairman said thank you to us.
Our bosses (of cause this proposal not involve only one company) screamed to us just after the VIPs out from the hall. They furious! They dissapointed! Mereka malu! Three of us have no answer… we simply don’t know what happen to us. My boss in particular can’t believe I can’t open my mouth, he knew I’m the most talkative and brave presenter. We have been practicing the Q&A session so many times. We should be able to answer the questions and brilliantly use it as our weapon, we know how to do it, indeed we have prepare for tougher question… the thing is… kami memang betul-betul tergamam.
Dua benda yang buat kami sedih adalah… First, we put the proposal in jeopardy. Penat lelah kawan-kawan, pelaburan bosses untuk menjayakan project mungkin akan wasted masuk longkang. 2nd, kami betul-betul malu dengan bosses and friends that put their trust on us. We failed them, we failed them badly. Its effect our ego, self believe and confident.
Semalam sepatutnya adalah presentation yang cukup mudah. Dalam dewan tu, the two most powerful persons actually is in our side, the chairman and the organizer. They already knew what we want to present. They somehow already received the presentation way early, they even advise us and corrected few points. So, besides our bosses and friends, kami juga sebenarnya mengecewakan these high ranking government officer and very powerful politician.
What to do… aku personally memang betul-betul sedih. Rasa nak nangis. Rasa macam player bola gagal score penalty di perlawanan akhir piala dunia. Betul-betul pedih. As we all agreed, we should stop whining about it and just concentrate on damage control action plan.
Tapi the whole event semalam sememangnya satu pengajaran yang berguna buat aku. We can’t find this kind of ilmu dalam mana-mana university.
Sorry sebab aku tinggalkan blog ini lama. After Tuesday next week (23 June), maybe aku boleh relax sikit. Since next big task only end of the month.
